We have our own venue!

This year has been a busy year for us – we now have our own venue. The hotel we had been using put a minimum number of students in place for us to use their venue meaning smaller classes would have been no longer been possible.  So the opportunity came up to acquire some space which after extensive renovation is now a dedicated training venue in Ayr, Scotland. It is a beautiful old building with many original features and the students of the 5 classes we have held there this year have all enjoyed the more relaxed atmosphere.

We have a new Website!

While the website we had served us well, it was time to move on to a more modern look and platform. We had originally planned to do this just before Covid struck, but luckily this year one of our students Alex Quintana had set up her own website creating company and was keen to do our website for us. She was great to work with as she is also a practitioner and has trained with us so fully understands our needs.  We are delighted with the result – if you also like it we are sure she would be happy to work with you on yours – her contact is: https://aqwebdesigner.com/.

2024 programme

2024 is shaping up to be quite a year! We are lucky to have both our developers – Jean-Pierre Barral and Alain Croibier coming to teach with us and also the curriculum director Gail Wetzler.  Jean-Pierre Barral will be teaching his brand new Brain 3 class in September 2024 while Alain Croibier is coming to teach 2 classes in May – Neural Manipulation 5 and Manual Articular Advanced Joints. Gail Wetzler is also teaching 2 classes - a one day gynaecological visceral manipulation and then her new 3 day Concussion class which has never been taught outside the USA before and we do not anticipate being back in Europe in the future. We are also running the higher levels of visceral manipulation – VM5&6,  both classes that do not come around so frequently and we are delighted VM6 will be taught by Mark Bloemberg for the first time in the UK.  Of course we will continue to run both the visceral and neural programmes thoughout the year and we do offer a £200 discount on the advertised rate for anyone wishing to repeat them. Those that repeat often comment how valuable they found it to refine their skills and how much they realised they had missed the first time through!

Brain Curriculum Classes Renamed

The Brain classes were called Advanced Visceral Manipulation: The Brain (AVMTB). They have been renamed to Manual Approach to the Brain (MAB). This was suggested by Jean-Pierre Barral to make them in line with the textbooks. The brain class has grown into a full curriculum so this name change will be used for all the Brain classes from now on. If you have previously done classes in this curriculum they are exactly the same as the new classes and you will be able to progress to the next MAB class from the relevant AVMTB class.

Teaching Assistants

Did you know we have teaching assistants (TAs) on all our classes? TAs ensure everyone gets the hands on help they need during the class. They are students who have done a substantial amount of training and then come back both for their own learning (you really learn when you have to explain it to someone else) and also to give something back to the programme. Our TAs report that they really enjoy the process and find they learn a huge amount.
For Visceral or Neural Manipulation to become a TA they need to have completed the first 4 levels and then repeated the first level and had their skills checked by an instructor.  If you are already studying with us and would like to be considered  as a TA please do get in touch with us and we will be delighted to discuss your next steps on this pathway. Below is a picture of Mark Bloemberg at his recent NM4 with his TAs out to relax at dinner after a day teaching.

Exciting year for London!

In 2024 we will be running 7 classes in London. This includes Visceral Manipulation 1 in January, Visceral Manipulation 2 in November, Neural Manipulation 1 in March and Neural Manipulation 2 in November along with Listening Techniques 1 in January. There are also two classes running for the first time in London – Visceral Manipulation 5 in March and Viscerovascular Upper in November – so if London is a better location for you be sure to register soon for these classes as we expect most of them to be full.
